Women’s Health Practice-Based Research Network


The Women’s Health Practice-Based Research Network (WHPBRN) promotes collaboration between practitioners and clinical investigators to improve women’s health. This network is part of Magee-Womens Research Institute and the University of Pittsburgh's CTSI.

Patient benefits:

  • Gain an additional understanding of their condition
  • Help their community by increasing medical knowledge to improve women’s health
  • Receive new, developing intervention as they are being developed

Provider benefits:

  • Studies may provide feedback about patient conditions
  • Studies may provide materials, like home blood-pressure monitors
  • Studies may provide interventions that can help clinical management of patients

Researcher benefits:

  • Ability to advertise the study in OBGYN practices 
  • Access to an underserved population of pregnant women
