ICRE Degree Programs


The Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE)

The CTSI's educational efforts are consolidated under the Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE). The ICRE offers a variety of educational, training, and career development programs designed to enhance understanding of, and promote careers in, clinical and translational research.

ICRE Degree and Certificate Programs

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical and Translational Science
This program is designed for clinical and translational researchers who want a rigorous, advanced training program designed to enhance the capabilities of conducting high-quality clinical and translational studies.

Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Research
This program is for medical students, fellows, and faculty members who want intense training in the design and implementation of high quality clinical research involving human subjects. Students select a track that offers specialized training in a specific clinical research area. The five specialty tracks include: Clinical Trials Research, Comparative Effectiveness Research, Health Services Research, Innovation, and Translational Science.

Master of Science (MS) in Medical Education
This program is for fellows and faculty members who are pursuing careers in medical education and clinical teaching and who want intense training in clinical education.

Certificate in Clinical Research
This certificate program is for any level of trainee who wants to learn to design and conduct high-quality clinical research involving human subjects.

Certificate in Medical Education
This certificate program is for fellows and junior faculty members who are pursuing careers in medical education and clinical teaching.
