CTSI Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design Core
The CTSI Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) Core provides study design, data management and statistical consultations as well as research-focused training through workshops.
BERD services are available to researchers at the University of Pittsburgh, including faculty, fellows and medical students. The BERD core supports the design and analysis of clinical and translational research projects. Quality improvement studies and research focused on medical education are not supported by BERD.
Consultation of up to 10 hours of support per project is provided at no cost to the researchers. If a project exceeds 10 hours, plans for additional time and resources can be discussed based on availability.
BERD services include:
-
Grant application development including sample size/power calculations and statistical analysis plans
-
Data analysis support for manuscripts and abstracts
-
Data collection and management consultations using the REDCap platform
