Linguistic Justice in Research Conference

This conference focuses on promoting equitable inclusion of non-English speaking participants and communities in research. Speakers will discuss how to promote linguistically and culturally affirming practices in research and will review multilevel solutions to improving language equity.

A six and half hour, virtual conference (8:30 to 3:00) with a combination of keynote speakers, skills-building workshops, moderated panel with community partners, brief research presentations, and networking lunch/community building event.

Continuing Education Credits

In support of improving patient care, the University of Pittsburgh is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nursing:
The maximum number of hours awarded for this Continuing Nursing Education activity is 6 contact hours.

Physician:
The University of Pittsburgh designates this live, virtual activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Social work:
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the University of Pittsburgh is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 5.5 general continuing education credits.

Certified health educators:
Continuing Education credits for certified health education specialists (CECH category 1, 5 entry) are available. To receive credit, participants must attend from beginning to end and complete an evaluation. MAR-PHTC is a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Provider ID# MEP 100475.

Other Healthcare Professionals:
Other health care professionals will receive a certificate of attendance confirming the number of contact hours commensurate with the extent of participation in this activity.
